Hungry.

6.24pm.
Eating lunch after WTTTF.
Life of a CCMer.

It was really a fun time at WTTTF. We talked about.... Photons to Eggs to Constantine. We found out too that the 'holy spirit' is really GENTLE. Whatever it was... one thing's for sure - I'm glad the youths in the class were HUNGRY. Hungry to learn more about God... hungry to grow.
Felt God speaking to us the same direction in service... that we really need to get connected.... get desperate to want MORE of Him. We need to be HUNGRY.

My son exercising his human rights tonight at dinner.
Looks like he's not hungry enough. :-/

My Song, My Dance... In the Presence of my King

Hey all!
haha I was away at my UNI camp 2 sundays ago.
And I heard it was rather quiet in service and fuel that week...
muahaha I wonder why...
Anyway... That weekend I may not have had the privilege of service, but God taught me something very valuable.

First I'll back track to the day before I went for camp. My friends and I decided to do a Prayer Walk around SMU. God led us to one area after another and we started to pray into the atmospheres to claim lands for God.We walked and walked until we came by the music and dance studio.

As I prayed I started feeling very burdened and sad because the Holy Spirit suddenly reminded me that music and dance was first made to WORSHIP God. So says the bible. It was never made to be full of vulgarities or to be provocative.
Music and dance was made to be pure, holy, and honorable for God.
However, the full impact of it did not hit me till I went for camp.

Generally, I had lots of fun at the camp.
Trouble came only after the campfire when they switched off all the lights, turned up the music and transformed it into a dance arena, clubbing style.
For the first time i actually saw people dancing the way they did in clubs! I was quite taken aback...The way they clapped, the way they danced. I thought that IF the songs were PRAISE & WORSHIP songs, I'll prob be equally or if not more active when it came to dancing undignified for God...Sigh... I was saddened. What was made to glorify God had been cheapened (sorry for the lack of better words).

My friends tried to coerce me into joining in, but I refused.
I had to walk away ALONE.
Walking away wasn't so easy. Firstly, we were all on the stage. Secondly, if I walked away, I would be the only one to get off the stage and walk across the field in full view of everyone. Eventually i walked away. I felt really uneasy so I went back to my tent, grabbed my bible and ran off to confide in God.

That night I wrote this note to God.
Dear Lord, Today I promise you, my convictions are set.
Give me the courage to stand up for it. 14 July 07

My convictions:
My song and my dance is only for my Lord and King.
~Let everything within me bless your name~

Distractions!

No.... Joan's not the distraction... :-)
She's just being a great sport here posing for the camera. The upp sec FUEL today had a hilarious time while learning about Nehemiah and rebuilding the walls... with distractions pasted on their FACES.... lol.
While they had paper pasted on them... I had my fair share of distractions since P.O.R.B. and Re:play.... My kids fell sick one after another... had to deal with unusual no. of ministry cases... (hard ones too)... accusations loomed over me... misunderstandings and miscommunications... I think you get it - DISTRACTIONS with a capital D. Maybe it has to do with my name.
But I thank God for those that kept me in prayer.... and I really had to remind myself constantly to stay focus with what God has called me to do...
Like what some of you felt - God is indeed leading us towards a great shift... and with great movement comes great resistance from the enemy!
Let's not give up guys... you have prayed...and God is answering... the fruits of your labour is not in vain - let's press on - and keep focus in the midst of DISTRACTIONS!
"Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you."
