HUNGRY 2...

Dear Partners!

Are you feeling hungry as you read this? Has your deprivation of meat drove you nuts yet? I know I am!

I just treated my mentor to some nice prime ribs today. And as I chewed on my vegeterian salad and watched her dig into that chunky piece of meat I grimaced and said,"Ah.. that's just a piece of brown thing, nothing nice about it!" *ya'all know i love food right?*

But let me assure you, its all worth it. Just read what David says in Psalm 63:3-5(NLT)!

3 Your unfailing love is better than life itself;
how I praise you!
4 I will praise you as long as I live,
lifting up my hands to you in prayer.
5 You satisfy me more than the richest feast.
I will praise you with songs of joy.

Wow! You and I may have been to buffets and all we-can-eat BBQs before but we've never had Royal Chefs prepare "all-you-can-eat" and "anything-and-whatever-you-want-to-eat" feasts of the highest quality for us before! So can you imagine what it's like for a king to say that? Someone who has all the best chefs in the country prepare all the best food in the nation for him, to say that?! Someone who really knows what good food is, to say that?!

And in case you didn't know, King David was on the run when he said this. He wasn't in the comfort of his palace! He was being chased down by his enemies! His adversaries could strike anytime so he had to be on 24/7 red alert! Its not just about the good food he's been missing, the problem here is whether he even has had enough food to eat! Or water to drink! And above and beyond he's physical needs, above and beyond his feelings of betrayal and heartache(he was being hunted down by his own son), the fear of pending devastation and the inconvenience of his situation, he cries out to God,"O God, you are my God; I earnestly search for you. My soul thirsts for you; my whole body longs for you in this parched and weary land where there is no water.." (Psa 63:1)

Man.. That is HUNGER!

Fasting is one form of expressing our hunger for God, giving Him the "above and beyond". Placing aside the time and energy that we've been used to spending on the things that are precious to us and, for a season, focusing that time and energy to search for God. That season for us is now!

As you continue to fast and pray, ask God to fill you with a deeper hunger for Him like never before... Like never before! A hunger that will last till eternity! Press in and call out to God and seek Him with all your heart!

Jeremiah 29:12-14 (NIV)
12 Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. 13 You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. 14 I will be found by you," declares the LORD....

2 more days and our time of fasting will come to an end,
but let our hunger for God come to no end!
In fact, let it intesify now!

In His Love and mine,
I'm Hungry 2!
Bro Kah Fei!

It's Prayer Time!

Hi IGNYTE!

How's praying been for you?! I've been really excited in this time of prayer and let me tell you why! =)

You see, as I was spending TAWG on Sunday and reading the Book of Philippians, I have been so inspired and encouraged by God to pray! In fact, I felt led to memorise Philippians Chapter 1 and it has brought about such a change in the way I pray!

In Philippians 1:3-4 & 7-8 (NLT) it records Paul & Timothy writing this to the Church of Philippi (Pronounced: fi-li-pie.. mm.. yummy.. pie..)
3Everytime I think of you, I give thanks to my God. 4Whenever I pray, I make my requests for all of you with joy,

7So it is right that I should feel as I do about all of you, for you have a special place in my heart. 8God knows how much I love you and long for you with the tender compassion of Christ Jesus.

Wow! Read that again and again, can you tell how much Paul and Timothy loved the Philippians?

4Whenever I pray, I make my requests for all of you with joy...
And in verse 5 Paul continues to say.
5for you have been my partners in spreading the Good News about Christ from the time you first heard it until now.

You know what? We are IGNYTE! We are partners in spreading the Good News about Christ to our generation! We are in this together! And as the word of God began to dwell in me heart, each time of prayer has been a time of me telling God how glad I am to be apart of this ministry. How glad I am to be in partnership with the people of God in IGNYTE! Young men and women of God who are living for His Purpose. My Generation. And how that has changed the way I pray!

God has placed such a joy in my heart to be praying for us in this ministry and I want to encourage you that in your time of prayers to let the love of God well up within you!

Let's continue to pray as a ministry that IGNYTE will be filled with people who hunger after God, His presence, His Word, His Will, His Purpose and most importantly, HIM! Everything we are for Your Kingdom's cause, Jesus!

In His Love & Mine,
Bro Kah Fei =)

a holy generation

I have a card stuck on my mirror which reads:

If you seek God, you will know Him.
If you know God, you will love Him.
If you love God, you will obey Him.

As I prayed Psalm 24:3-4 today for the X[PL]ODE Daniel Fast, I really felt that God's heart is grieved because sometimes we as His children defiled ourselves such that we are distanced from Him due to our sin. The Lord is holy and if we really want to encounter God, we need to confess our errors and repent before the Lord, that He may wash us clean, sanctify us, set us apart as a blameless and pure generation for Him (Phil. 2:14-15).

DID YOU KNOW...
In the Old Testament, only the High Priest could enter into the holy of holies in the temple of God. And even then, a rope with bells had to be routinely tied around his ankles such that if God found that he was unclean and stuck him dead, the people could pull his body out by the rope. This is not to scare you guys okay, don't misunderstand me. By God's unfailing grace and the love of Christ, we are forgiven for our sins and do not have to face instantaneous judgement by death like in the Old Testament. There's no condemnation in Christ! (:

My point is that if we want to enter into the inner courts, to encounter God is a more intimate way, we need to have "clean hands and a pure heart" (Psalm 24:4) for only those who do can ascend the hill of the Lord.

Obedience does not come out of a fear of punishment or obligation because there are "religious rules” we have to observe. Rather, obedience stems from a heart of love and fear of God. By fear of God, I do not mean fear in the sense that you are afraid of the consequences (although that is part of it to a certain extent), but fear which connotes reverence, veneration, awe and worship. My prayer for us is that we will always be seeking Him, knowing Him and loving Him, and subsequently, obedience will become a natural response to God.

There is a fundamental difference between duty and desire-

I don't obey because I have to; I obey because I want to.

So as we continue to fast and pray towards the upcoming camp, let's throw off everything that entangles and hinders us in our walk with God and I believe, we'll be well prepared to break through beyond the veil into a place of worship and encounter where we've never been before. Life change doesn't have to start only on Day 1 of X[PL]ODE- it starts before that,

as we focus our eyes,
tune our ears
and surrender our hearts to God

so that by the time camp starts, we'll be all geared up to X[PL]ODE!!!

ARE YOU READY FOR THE TIME OF YOUR LIFE?

In His love and mine,
sis mich lee!

HUNGRY?

Important notice:
TiDbIts will be not be served during this week's fasting & prayer time.

Thank you for your support for the past 2 weeks! :)

We hope we have stirred a hunger in you and you’re being geared-up towards the big spiritual feast in camp! See you at camp!

Meanwhile...Ever wondered why we fast & pray? Hmm...

2 Chronicles 7:14“If My people, who are called by My Name, will humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.”

Fasting is all about the heart! It’s about HUMBLING myself, denying myself (dying to my desires, needs, wants), in order that I may pray earnestly N seek God wholeheartedly.

Are you DESPERATE for God to move in x[PL]ode camp? Are you HUNGRY for breakthrough in your personal life, in your family, school, and in IGNYTE ministry?

IGNYTE MINISTRYIT’S TIME TO ARISE! The enemy will try all he can to distract and prevent you from praying; DON’T LET HIM! Pray together with your buzzgroup/cell members through your buzzgroup/cell prayer chains. Check out Matthew 18:19-20 – there is power in praying together.

So are you ready?? Let’s get HUNGRY!

Hungry, very hungry,
the x[PL]ode camp committee

Day 12:TiDbIt 1..

Here's a peek into how I prepare for camp the night before..

first 1/2 hour -- figuring out what clothes to bring
next 1/2 hour -- ironing all of it
next 1/2 -- making sure that I've packed e correct number of t-shirts & shorts
next 1/2-- contemplating if I made the right choice...:)
next 1/2 -- getting all my toiletries in order and making doubly sure I've packed in my bath towel and bible

Hummm... looking back now I feel so silly about spending 2 hrs of my precious time deciding on the attire cos I'm always in t-shirt and bermudas during camps... :( Mebbe I should speed things up this year...:)

Day 11:TiDbIt 1..

The most valuable thing I brought back from camp...

Look at that picture on the left? It’s the name of my camp group last year,
ABISHAI..Shai..Shai..Shai…

Her name is CRAC ! - Cute Red Abishai Cloth (:
This may just seem as a very simple cloth, but it means a lot to me. This little red cloth went thru all the happy and tough times at the game stations with me throughout the whole camp. In times of sobbing at the alter calls in the hall after service, CRAC was also there with me. Although a nametag acts the same way as it is always with us, but this CRAC of mine really acts differently and I felt it.

As I brought CRAC home with me, I could never forget the times and the great experiences I had at camp. Not forgetting the new purpose and touch, which God has placed in my life. Going to camp with a great expectation, brought me back everything that I was looking forward to by just having this little red cloth with me.

I urge everyone that even as you come for x[PL]ode, come with a heart of expectation and believe that God can instill a new purpose and vision in your life. Even a small little thing can bring back lots of unforgettable memories at camp. Treasure Okays?!

I SHALL SEE YOU ALL AT x[PL]ode !!

Day 10:TiDbIt 2..

My first church camp...

...was at Changi Aloha resort! With the wonderful combination of sun, sand and sea, it was an unforgettable one. We had foreigners on an exchange program, who I cannot remember exactly where they were from. Our service was at the hall area outside the bedrooms. Though the place was small, but the impact that God did on our lives was great. The camp preacher shared about how God changed his live and perspective. That struck me that despite that we may be relatively small as compared to the world, however, God has made us GREAT and has a GREAT plan for us.

Since that camp, I had a breakthrough in my own spiritual life. I began to remove the mindset of having limitations as a new believer and God began to bring me to do things I do not normally do in church which resulted an accelerated growth. Praise God!

Day 10:TiDbIt 1..

My Most Embarrassing Moment At Camp…

Camp is coming! I remember my 2nd camp when the most embarrassing thing happened to me.

It was lunch time and my group was eating, enjoying the food. As soon as we left the lunch area, everyone was staring at me. I didnt realise why until my group member told me "you got a really big patch of red stain on your pants!"

Day 9: TiDbIt 1..

My first camp...

...was awesome!! *woo!* I was in Sec 1, very excited but a lil’ worried cos I was an assistant group leader at my very 1st youth camp (!)

I remember my awesome group leader came up with a cool name for our awesome group - QUIKSILVER!

Cool yah?? BUT after rejoicing over the cool-ness of the name...My group leader and I soon realised the difficulty we would run into: HOW to come up with a group cheer that rhymed with..."Quiksilver?" We couldn't help but notice that only a few words rhymed with "Quiksilver", and these were "saliva", "leader" and "liver". Thus, the Quiksilver cheer was written:

QUIKSILVER!
DRIP SALIVA
ON THE LEADER'S LIVER! *cheer*

So with this war-cry, we marched forth. (And managed to gross out a few game station marshalls) Hehe :P

I thank God that I didn't just get to have a lot of fun and have wonderful, intensive days of encountering Him N enjoying His presence, but I also made real friends. Friends I've made at camps have been such a blessing to me, even years after camp, and many have become like brothers and sisters to me. All glory to God! We’re so blessed to have Ignyte camp n an awesome ministry like ours!!

Get ready to x[PL]ode, ya’ll!

Day 7: TiDbIt 1..

Stuff I always/never bring to camp

Stuff I always bring to camp:
Enough Soap - Always check there is always enough before you come for camp, you do not want to smell like yesterday today. =S
Towel - Never forgot how I dried myself using dirty clothes..
Extra clothes - Might be useful if you did not bring the towel.. =)

Stuff I never bring to camp:
Music player - I always fall asleep with it still on. Making it useless after the first night. =/
What are you planning to bring to the camp? =)

Day 6: TiDbIt 1..

My first [Church] camp..

I remembered I could not sleep the night before my FIRST CHURCH CAMP because I wondered if all this was real. Coming from a non-Christian family, it took me 2 years to convince my parents to allow me to go for one and I wasn't sure whether that would be my last. I went to the camp with great excitement and the expectation of wanting to know more about God and to make new friends. Indeed, not only did God meet my expectations, my life was radically transformed and I found NEW PURPOSE in life.

So come to x[PL]ode with an EXPECTATION. Come and EXPERIENCE a touch from GOD.
... it's definitely not something for the faint-hearted!

Day 5: TiDbIt 2..

My First Camp...

I still remember my first youth camp so vividly! I guess that’s because I really thought I wasn’t going to make it for camp that year; my parents didn’t allow me to go for youth camps then and I was supposed to be in Malaysia during the camp period. BUT I was desperate to go for camp and I remember my cell members were praying so hard together with me. Thank God I made it for youth camp that year!

I was still pretty new in church then and being the very shy me (haha), I was apprehensive about having to make new friends etc. However, my hunger to experience God in the camp overshadowed my anxieties. It was such a powerful camp experience for me! I made many new friends, had so much fun in the games and workshops, and most importantly, God came and touched me in every service.

x[PL]ode's my sixth youth camp but I remind myself each year to go for camp with such a fresh hunger and desperation for God. I want to encourage you to do the same as well! So take the first step to sign up for camp if you haven’t done so; it’s not just a camp, it’s your opportunity to experience something totally awesome! I’m exploding with excitement already, are you? (:

Day 5: TiDbIt 1..

The most memorable thing that happened to me…

Was during my first camp. I went for the camp with a pinch of fear as my best friend did not attend the full camp. Despite the feeling of being scared and lonely, I took a step of faith and went for the camp for the sole reason of wanting to meet God.

THEN, i received a small note from a group mate. We hardly knew each other and I was very surprised to receive the note from her. In the small note she wrote, “Good to see you in camp. May you receive a new level of faith and begin to step in to grasp it. Remember: God’s watching over you. He knows all that we can endure!”

It was a simple note but it spoke to me in great amounts. Little that I knew, through that note, a new friendship was built. God honoured me when I took that step of faith to go for the camp. God knew my very needs and met my needs by bringing people into my life. It’s interesting how God can bring people whom we never thought that we can be friends with into our lives.

What kind of friends are you expecting to make in camp? :-)

Day 4: TiDbIt 2..

My all-time favorite game from camp is…

Every Man Counts! The game consisted of four stations (Bible knowledge, Wisdom, Strength, Courage) and one BIG station, the one where everyone came together and had a water bomb war! Hahaha! By the end of the whole game, everyone was soaking wet and shrieking in laughter at the weirdly-drawn war paint on their friends' faces.

I enjoyed myself like never before, and also learnt that truly, each and every one of us are important, be it in God's eyes or the people around us! :D

What are YOU looking forward to in camp?

... are you ready to x[PL]ode?

Day 4: TiDbIt 1..

My all-time favourite game from camp was…

A night games (I think!) which involved socks, soap and a lot of cat-fighting. For the game, the guys pitted against guys, and girls against girls. Each team member would have to put on a sock, and then be tied by the leg to another team member. And yep you guessed it right, the objective of the game was to snatch off the opposing team’s socks.

BUT, what made the game more challenging was that it took place on a very very soapy tarp! It was super fun both playing and watching people play the game, especially the girls because they went crazy with the screaming and shrieking while trying to grab their opponents’ socks off. Ohmytian you probably haven’t seen so many girls being so violent and hysterical in your entire life. lol.

Are YOU looking forward to camp?! woohoo!

Day 3: TiDbIt 2..

The most memorable thing I brought back from camp was…

.. An embarrassing moment. haha. okay okay so it isn't EXACTLY a typical memorable kinda thing- but it was so embarassing i think i'll remember it for the rest of my life. *blushes*

it was in a workshop and the pastor was talking about being desperate for God.. and then he went "How many of you are desperate for God today?!" And of course, me being a good Christian youth- i shot my hand straight up. then the pastor went.. "aw come on- you guys can do better than that. how many of you are DESPERATE for GOD today?" and again, i shot my hand straight up. then he went "aw COME ON.. how many of you are..

[now at this point i was scribbling in my notebook something or another, and when i heard my pastor say]

"DESPERATE FOR G-" i shot my hand way up again- only to hear the ENTIRE youth ministry burst out laughing.

Confused, i turned to my adult leader who was sitting next to me- whereupon he [trying VERY EVILLY to stop laughing] told me that my pastor had said: "How many of you are.. DESPERATE FOR GUYS?!"

.. and of course to which- i was the only one who put up my hand with such enthusiasm.

*faints*

Day 3: TiDbIt 1..

The most memorable thing I brought back from camp was…

A FUNNY NICKNAME!!!

It was because I had a favourite word that I kept using in camp and EVERYONE KEPT USING THAT WORD TOO!! My favourite word was “clever bodoh!” It’s actually an oxymoron and for the sake of those who don’t understand malay, “bodoh” means stupid. So I left camp with the nickname “clever bodoh” and until today people who went for the camp call me that! haha (:

Day 2: TiDbIt 2..

The most embarrassing thing that happened to me during camp..

I was happily chatting away with a group mate on the bus ride to the campsite, when the bus braked. That’s all I knew before I was flying through the air. I landed (an estimated) 2m from my original seat on the floor of the bus. So there I was, looking shocked and wondering what on earth just happened. In case you were wondering how such an unfortunate incident could happen, I was sitting in the middle seat of the row at the back of the bus so there was nothing directly in front of me to break my “flight”.

It was embarrassing, and the people around me were like all, “are you alright?” while obviously trying to hide their amusement, when it was NOT FUNNY at all. Okay so maybe it was, and I want to thank God for protecting me even in such a trivial funny incident. I thank God that the brake wasn’t hard enough to send me through the windscreen as a human projectile, and I escaped the incident unscathed- save for a bruised ego since I landed unflatteringly. I didn’t even get any physical bruises because I was protected by the lipids in my... gluteus maximus(scientific term for butt).

It's a good thing we're not having that long a bus ride this time- so the chances of you landing on your butt are significantly less. :-P

Day 2: TiDbIt 1..

Most embarrassing thing that happened to me during camp..

你对我笑哈哈
我对你 Seow C C (笑嘻嘻)
当我们同在一起真快乐无比

Day 1: TiDbIt 2..

The most interesting person I met in camp..

I had a group member, whom happened to be my roommate, who was REALLY passionate about his favorite color - RED! RED specs, RED pens, RED tee, even his shoes were RED! (I forget to check whether was his toothbrush red too, roomie if you're reading this-let me know after you see this entry.. haha!) OH and guess what, his favorite fruit was also RED. RED watermelon. He was the group’s devourer for watermelon during meal times. At the end of that year, my camp group came together and gave him a watermelon as a Christmas present.

I'm glad that I get to make new friends through camp... and most importantly one who is also RED hot for Christ!

Day 1: TiDbIt 1..

The most interesting person I met in camp..

Hmmm.. When I was young (and I still am!) and had my first youth camp, I had a room mate who would use TOOTHPASTE (!!!) to wake me up in the morning! She would put spots of toothpaste on my face and the burning sensation would wake me up! haha!

What kind of interesting people are YOU looking forward to meet?! :-)

Hey all!! =D

I’m so excited and I really, really, seriously cannot wait till 12th of December!! And what’s coming up on the 12th of December? Yes, it’s x[PL]ode- our very first youth camp for IGNYTE Ministry @ PL! Have YOU signed up for camp yet? No? What are you waiting for?! =)

I’m sure God's gonna do a GREAT work in this camp and that He'll touch and speak to us in ways that we may never have experienced before! A day in God’s house is better than a thousand days in the world, Amen??? I believe we're really gonna shake the enemy up through this camp as we take our stand as the army of God to war against him. there is NOTHING the enemy could do to stop us, with God on our side! I really hope to see all of you at camp!

I can’t wait to see the whole IGNYTE ministry x[PL]ode!!!!!
God bless!

Sean =)
x[PL]ode Camp Comm

HEY IGNYTE!

Are you jumping for joy and bursting with excitement, now that x[PL]ode is only a month away? :D Do you squeal with happiness when you see the indemnity form –the one that allows you entry to NUS? Haha, because I do!!!

Dame Edith Evans once said, “I can’t imagine going on when there are no more expectations.” In the same way, we must go to Kent Ridge Hall with our own expectations, or how else will we know when God has brought about a change in us?

For me, I expect myself to be more courageous, that I will not be afraid to reach out to the people around me, and also for God to show me the purpose he has for me. Haha, wouldn’t it be great that one day (a few years later), you realise that you’ve really impacted the people around you by your actions and how you are living your life as God’s own image?

So, what do YOU expect to receive from this camp?

Love, Shiny :)

YEEH-HA! Get me to x[PL]ode camp!!!

Woohoo!! I don't know how many of you are jumping up and down in excitement for our VERY FIRST, IGNYTE@PL CAMP, but I'M certainly doing that! Yesh, like RIGHT NOW (*yvette jumps up and down in excitement!*) AAAHHHH!!! campiscomingcampiscomingcampiscoming..... ok ok, you get the idea :)

Anyway, Ignyte ministry, ARE YOU READY for CAMP??

Well, while you're filling up that camp registration form (Go get your camp registration form now. Remember to take a pen along. And for those under 18, bring a parent as well *yvette waits for you to get form and pen + parent*)...

Ok, ready now? Right, fill it in, and at the same time, let's think about what are you EXPECTING for this year's x[PL]ode camp?? (besides that it will obviously be EXPLOSIVE)...Yup, and write those expectations down in your journal or somewhere u can remember :) Why, u say? Because when u write and commit those expectations to God, man, u are gonna experience some awesome things at this camp, and u're gonna see that God hears your prayers n is faithful to answering them. It's like a tested-and-proven thing...after camp u can look at your expectations u wrote b4 camp n go "WOW! God really answered me!" AMEN? :)

Filled up form and written expectations? Yay. Now my turn my turn! *fills up my form*

My expectations for camp...let's see...U know how u must always SHAKE the soda can b4 it will EXPLODE when u open the cap? Yeah i wanna to be SHAKEN (like a soda can) during camp, break free (wasn't worship ex AWESOME?? Praise God!) from my own comfort zones/conveniences/interests, and let God explode me to make an impact on my family+friends. I don't just wanna sit here and be happy, i want to GO OUT and touch my world for Jesus! I also really desire to see Ignyte Ministry become such a UNITED body, that we will indeed be a force to be reckoned with! N with GOD leading us, the enemy will have no share in what God wants to do in our generation. YEAH. THAT's what I really wanna see.

Yeahh...so let God give u a VISION n a DREAM for this camp, and go SIGN UP!! do remember that if u wanna enjoy the EARLY BIRD discount, sign up THIS SUNDAY, 4th Nov - give your forms and $$ to your leaders. I want to be an early bird k, so u better be one too. Ahaha. :)

Way excited for camp,
Sis Yvette!
